We know your cats are a part of the family, let us take care of them.

Cat’s Pyjamas Cattery

It was 2008 when we embarked on our journey to open a boarding cattery which was to be located on our beautiful small holding at the foot of the mountains. This is where Cat’s Pyjamas was born.

It was our intention that the cattery would be entirely of our own creation – rustic, tranquil and unique. The beauty surrounds and this was what prompted us to adopt a “common” cattery theme.

We trusted that our mutual love and understanding for cats in particular, and all animals in general – would help to ensure that we could provide a happy, secure and peaceful home for the cats in our care. We offered then, and do now, just that.

We’re situated on a quiet country road where there is no traffic noise and where trees and shrubs are placed strategically surrounding the perimeter of the cattery, attracting birds, squirrels and even free roaming peacocks.

Mike and I work full time at the Cattery and it is for us a dream to be living and working on our beloved property but also enjoying the privilege and reaping the rewards of caring for the cats.

Accommodation

The cats have the privacy of their own private bedroom complete with split-level beds, in winter, sheepskin pillows and soft fleecy blankets; in summer cool sheets, as well as individual curtains for snugness! A fully enclosed balcony is a popular addition to this area.

The cattery is operated on a closely maintained routine from day to day. This helps to ensure security and stability – where there are no surprises; and they know what to expect. There’s music, toys of all descriptions, scratching posts and no shortage things for them to do, both indoors and out. No need to pack a bag as it’s all here!

Our Garden

In the morning the kitties are invited to get up (or not, if they if they don’t wish to do so) and go out to enjoy the large three tiered garden. There are boxes, ledges and hidey holes throughout; and grass and flowers add to the fun and enjoyment.

This makes for a lovely environment and offers full sunshine in some places and total shade in others. We have a lovely addition to the accommodation on offer in the form of individual units made from solid wood, which house comfortable split level beds with soft comfy bedding and are cozy and peaceful.

Chill-Out Room

Housed in a separate but adjoining full sized cottage is a fully equipped “chill out” room, completely dedicated to the comfort of the cats; and includes all manner of kitty beds, igloos and quiet secluded places for the kitties to snooze.

This area also includes a large enclosed balcony and offers additional entry/exit into the garden and other areas. It’s another completely quiet and peaceful place for the cats to spend their time.

Happy Cats

Our cat is like a child to us, so whenever we go away it’s comforting to know that we can leave him safely at Cat’s Pyjamas. One can see that Jill really loves cats and goes the extra mile to ensure that they are well looked after, giving them only the best cat food, changing the litter boxes after every single use, etc.
The cattery itself is always spotlessly clean, and the cats even have a completely enclosed outside section to run around during the day. We can highly recommend Cat’s Pyjamas to any loving cat owners!

Theo (and Hanli) Pepler

Whilst we were looking for a cattery to look after our Gracie whilst we were away for several months we felt ourselves lucky to find accommodation of the quality of Cats Pyjamas, especially compared to other places we saw which were quite appalling.

Gracie looks on Jill as her second mother and always seems relaxed to go there. A good choice and one we have had nothing but good service!

David and Nakki Murray-Robertson

My two cats have stayed at Cats Pajamas on five occasions in the past two years and I can happily recommend it. From being a very traumatic event for the cats before we found Cats Pajamas; the cats are now so happy there that they don’t want to leave when we collect them! One cat hates strangers but loves Jill; my daughter calls her “The Cat Whisperer”

Les van Niekerk, Gordon’s Bay

We have dealt with people looking after cats in different countries over many years and if you spend 5 minutes with Jill at the Cat’s Pajamas you will see the level of care and love is unmatched for our feline friends.
